How do I get the sound on my computer back?
My speakers are on and all my volume settings are perfect. I verified that all the audio jacks are plugged and I still cannot hear the sounds. But each time I dial up the internet I can here the sound of boring numbers. Also, I can hear this music on my pinball game, but not by the other sounds I heard before. I asked everyone I knew and nothing worked. One guy said he could be my sound card, whatever. I never even heard a sound card. I do not know what I did wrong. One day he was playing sound perfectly, the next day it was broken. If Please help! I will not be fooled by someone who claims they can solve the problem. Thank you all for helping me with my problem. I followed some of your advice and got her back to my computer! Thank you very much! 
do not buy anything if the sound sometimes works when it is just a configuration problem, you should be able to fix if you find the right thing when you go to volume control (one with lots of sliders, and not just one or two, you can double-click the speaker icon in the lower right might be or go into "Start-accessories-entertainment-control volume), make sure the main drive on the left as 'Wave', 'SW Synth', 'Audio CD' is not checked Silent on the merits.
