Whats th main difference for a goaltender in hockey between home and play highschool.?
Im a sophomore and I've played goalkeeper for 1 season regular and has played in the off season in house league / level innermural. Honestly, I can skate without falling, I can slip back in my crrease, im learning to fly from side to side in my crease and IM Learning some new moves like kick save, I know bases of butterflies and the tree down teqniques. I kno bases such as staying square to the puck, not the shooter, and other things. I am a slow skater though. What is the main difference that I carry in HS hoockey as far as shots I face, contact, such as pushing a bad reception, moves have difficulty learning, and endurance were wrong to have?
Where are you? This is the big question. If it's hockey schools school in Canada, you'll probably be fine escape from the house because most of the really strong players who have played for years fit in the system Midget AAA or Major Junior Hockey League. However, if you're in the U.S., it is usually where the players are up they go to college. (eg, Sidney Crosby went to the United States to play in high school for a year because he was too young for the Midget AAA). Although I do not think the U.S. has a system of division. I took a look, there should be something at your level for sure. Usually one of the things expected of goalies school age would be the ability to handle the puck, if necessary (and stop when he is dumped by the other team). So I definitely think it's something you should work. There was a time that the worst skater was thrown into the nets because they do not skate. but this is not the case today. Fortunately as a goalkeeper, you're much broader pretty hands, so nobody can hit you when you walk behind the net. So my general advice is to first work on your handling stick and try to get some ice time to skate around without your gear first and then start adding peices of it. You'll be fantastic in record time! if you have the reflexes the rest will come!
