Is there a way to differentiate between a carbon steel tap and a tap at high speed, looking?

When you hold a high speed tap and a tap carbon steel side by side, they seem identical. They are sometimes engraved with different codes, such that (U) NC and NC. I have several of the same size, but I do not know what is carbon steel and high speed. Any help?

If you try file (the stem) of tap water, you find carbon steel is harder than the broadband tap. Just a little light with the file should do the trick.
